Sometimes you just know when you’ve found “the one.” Perennials are plants and flowers that grow for several seasons, coming back year after year. Usually, the top of the plant “dies” or goes dormant in the winter, but comes back (literally) in full bloom in the spring via a lasting root system. Flowering plants often retain their leaves throughout the year and can provide lovely groundcover, borders or indoor greenery even when the flowers aren’t in season. Others may need to be cut all the way back but their green leaves will should up along with the temperatures.
